Dal 18 ottobre 2010 a Diyarbakir in Turchia 151 donne ed uomini si trovano al banco d’accusa di una gigantesca, lussouosa e risplendente nuova sala di udienza di un palazzo di giustizia di provincia particolarmente sfasciato. Sono degli amministratori locali eletti ed in carica, come Osman Baydemir, il popolarissimo sindaco di Diyarbakir, degli ex sindaci o ex deputati, degli avvocati, dei difensori dei diritti dell’uomo, dei sindacalisti, delle femministe, dei funzionari, dei pensionati tra cui un militare, dei semplici militanti. Donne o uomini, giovani od anziani, gli accusati sono delle cittadine e dei cittadini che si sono impegnati per il riconoscimento dei diritti del popolo kurdo e l’affermazione della sua identità culturale.
