Leyla Zana: we demand our share from Turkey
Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block’s Diyarbakir Independent Candidate Leyla Zana, referring to the model of Democratic Autonomy, said “These children shall now have education in their mother language. Kurds want a share in this country. Why does the government send governors and head officials here from other cities? Kurds want to elect the governors and head officials from their own people.”
Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block’s Diyarbakir Independent Candidate Leyla Zana visited the villages of Silvan/Diyarbak?r. While Zana was accompanied by tens of vehicles and followed by a group of journalists including two German channels, villagers welcomed Zana with slogans and flags of Abdullah Ocalan and Confederalism.
Speaking to the people in villages, Zana said; “These children shall now have education in their mother language. Kurds want to share this country. Why does the government send governors and head officials here from other cities? Kurds want to elect the governors and head officials from their own people.” Zana showed reaction to Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan’s statements at his Diyarbak?r rally “Kurds are Zoroaster” and said the followings; “Prime Minister says that we call Abdullah Ocalan as our Prophet. Our prophet is Mohammed. And just like your Presidency, Dear Ocalan is the leader of Kurds and you have to see this.” Responding to MHP Chairperson Devlet Bahceli’s expressions at Diyarbak?r rally “Will Kurds be saturated if they receive education in mother language”, Zana said; “Yes, Kurds be saturated and this war will end if they have training in their mother-tongue. And if the war ends, all the money you spend for weapons, bombs, tanks and shells will go to the packet of people. The table will have a richer variety.”
Following the village visits, Zana joined a celebration at Bahcelievler election office where she made a call for unity and solidarity and demanded the protection of each person’s own will.
