People’s Democratic Congress visited Roboski still waiting for justice for the massacre on 28 December

A delegation of the People’s Democratic Congress (HDK) visited Nusaybin Municipality in the province of Mardin before the delegation’s main visit to the village of Roboski where 34 Kurdish civilians were killed by Turkish warplanes eight months ago, on 28 December of 2011.

Those responsible for the massacre haven’t been brought to justice yet as Turkish legal authorities have so far failed to finalize the investigation into the incident for which government and military officials have neither made an explaination nor conducted an official legal process so far.

The HDK delegation consisted of deputy spokesman Ertu?rul Kürkçü, BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) Istanbul deputy Sebahat Tuncel, Diyarbak?r deputy Nursel Aydo?an, Prof. Fatma Gök as well as executives of Mardin and Bodrum branches of the HDK.

Speaking here on behalf of the HDK delegation, Ertu?rul Kürkçü, the BDP MP for Mersin, pointed out that the Turkish Parliament has also failed to do its part about the massacre up to date. Kürkçü remarked that the Roboski massacre should become the main topic on the Parliament’s agenda once it opens in mid October and added that the delegation will share its observations in Roboski when it gets back to Istanbul.

The HDK delegation also visited BDP ??rnak organization before going to Uludere.
