The parliamentary sub-commission investigating the Roboski massacre passed by five votes to three a controversial report which concludes the massacre happened due to lack of coordination between military officials and civilians intelligence officials which led to the bombing.
On 28 December 2011 Turkish warplanes bombed the area around Roboski (Uludere in the province of ??rnak) killing 34 civilians, mostly youngsters who were crossing the border with Iraq to buy goods.
The army defended the strike saying that intelligence they had been given showed that the group of people were in fact PKK guerrillas. But the footages were seen by deputies who contradicted the military saying there was no way the civilians could have been mistaken for guerrillas.
