TURKEY ATTACKS AGAINST NORTHERN SYRIA – LATEST

The Turkish state has launched an aerial bombardment against northern Syria.

 

18:32 – In Dêrik, the people protested the Turkish state’s invasion of northern and eastern Syria. People marched chanting slogans on the streets of the city.

While the attacks continued around the city of Sêrikaniyê with mortars, Sêrikaniyê Military Assembly forces responded. There are thousands of civilians in the city.

A 6-year-old boy in the village of Sê Girka in Qamishlo was wounded during the attack of the occupying Turkish state. In the same area, the Turkish army shot a vehicle belonging to civilians.

Responding to the Turkish state’s occupation attack, HDP co-chair Sezai Temelli said in a statement, “Let us give voice to Rojava. Let’s speak out against this war against the Kurdish people”.

The SDF fighters respond to the invasion of the Turkish state on the border of Qamishlo and Dêrik within the framework of defense.

Turkish warplanes began bombing the village of Mişrefa in Serêkaniyê.

In his official account, Turkish President Erdoğan announced that the invasion had begun.

Erdoğan claimed that they would create a “safe zone” and that this is why they attacked the North and East Syria territory.

The Turkish state’s attack on northern and eastern Syria was protested with a march in Stuttgart, Germany.

Kurds are protesting in front of the US embassy in Brussels.

Kurds gathered in front of the European Parliament in Belgium’s capital, Brussel and then marched to the American Embassy.

16:05 – Kurdish Solidarity Cymru said: “It’s already started [the attack against Rojava]. We must all organise to support the people of North and East Syria.

UK must:

– Deny Turkey intelligence support

– Materially and diplomatically support the SDF

– Sanction Turkey

– Not let Turkey use NATO’s article 5;

– Keep Turkey isolated

15:51 – The invading Turkish army and its military allies have attacked Girê Spî with artillery shots and Eyn Isa district with warplanes.

15:40 – Lloyd Russell-Moyle Labour/Coop MP for Kemptown & Peacehaven said: “Turkey is bombing Ras Al Ain, a peaceful mixed Arab and Kurdish town in NE Syria.

This is illegal, will destabilize both NE Syria and Turkey. Britain should seek UN approval for no fly zone to protect our Kurdish allies and civilians.

It should suspend all arms sales to Ankara”
