Syrian government approach non solution-orientated

After the agreement between the SDF and the Syrian army, the government in Damascus relies on methods that do not serve to solve the problems, announces the autonomous administration of North and East Syria.

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has issued a written statement on the agreement made between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Army.

The statement said the following:

“The agreement made between the SDF General Command and the Syrian Army on Russia’s mediation includes border security and the protection of Syria’s territorial integrity from Turkish occupation attacks. The General Command of SDF and the Autonomous Administration have previously declared that the aim of this agreement is the security of the border line and the sovereignty of Syria. No agreement has been reached on the institutions and work of the autonomous administration. All the institutions and staff of the Autonomous Administration are continuing their work and fulfilling their mission in all areas. The Autonomous Administration has called for dialogue on several occasions and continues to do so. The SDF General Command and the Autonomous Administration have taken a big step towards a real and lasting solution to the Syrian crisis.

In this context, the Ministries of Defence, Interior and Education of the Damascus Government have issued appeals to individuals within the Autonomous Administration. However, this method does not serve a political solution, but deepens the crisis further. If the government in Damascus is seriously pursuing a solution to the Syrian crisis, it must openly announce this to the institutions of the autonomous administration of North and East Syria.

The autonomous administration of North and East Syria has more than 11,000 martyrs in the war against the ISIS. More than 24,000 people were injured. There are dozens more victims every day. We have liberated almost half of Syria from terrorist organisations and provided care for the people affected by the attacks of Erdoğan on Syria.

The autonomous administration has always stood up for the unity of Syria and the brotherhood of the peoples in the region. Our weapons have been directed against terror. We extended our hand to the people of Syria. In order to protect the achievements of the people, we have always paid a high price and our struggle continues.

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria is ready to engage in talks with all parties that are working for a political solution and fighting for the peoples. We will continue to work hard for a diverse and democratic Syria where rights and freedoms are respected”.
