Anti Pogrom Human Rights Organization CHAK awarded the human rights prize to TMK (Anti-Terrorism Law) victim, little prisoner Berivan Sayaca.
Fifteen years old Berivan Sayaca, who was arrested on 9 October and sentenced to 7 years and 8 months imprisonment, was given the award from CHAK.
CHAK Central Chairman Goran Halabca stated that the branches of the organization will start their action for TMK victim children tomorrow in the presence of EU and international human rights organizations.
“Our branches will inform all political and humanitarian organizations, particularly EU, about the subject and invite them to do the necessary. This policy of terrorizing Kurdish children is a disgrace for Turkey on its way to become a EU member. This must be seen clearly and the punishment of Kurdish children must come to an end.”
As to the award to Berivan, Halabcayi said that “We have decided to give the human rights award of Kurdocide Watch-CHAK to our sister Berivan Sayaca who is now in Diyarbak?r Jail in the wake of these applications which trample on democracy and human rights. Berivan has became a symbol for all imprisoned and innocent Kurdish children. The award of 5000 crown will be delivered to her in Diyarbak?r. We hope this award will be a significant step in the fight for the freedom of Kurdish children.”
