BDP deputies in night-long sit in
Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) deputies and Democratic Society Congress (DTK) members started a sit-in act in Sümer Park area in the evening of the 14 July in protest against the violent police attack during the unpermitted freedom meeting. The sit-in act in Diyarbak?r will end with a press statement at the meeting area today.
Making a statement to press members here, BDP co-chair Selahattin Demirta? called attention to the events and conflicts that continued in the city all day long and said that the police torture on Kurdish people in areas couldn’t discourage them from resistance.
BDP co-chair remarked that their sit-in act was staged to protest against the brutal police violence and injury and detention of hundreds of people in conflicts.
Demirta? warned that the AKP should start behaving sensibly now.
BDP deputy Pervin Buldan who got a leg fracture on foot because of a gas bomb will be taken to Istanbul today for treatment. Deputies Ayla Akat Ata, Mülkiye Birtane and Diyarbak?r Mayor Osman Baydemir also suffered injuries during the conflict yesterday.
