BDP delegation to go to Imral? on Saturday

Turkish Ministry of Justice has approved the names the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) submitted on Wednesday for the delegation to make the next visit to Imral? Island to meet Abdullah Öcalan, the jailed leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), as part of ongoing process of talks on the way to negotiations.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdo?an said on Wednesday that the Ministry of Justice will review the names that night and announce the decision to the public on Thursday.

Following the meeting which lasted till late hours at night, the Ministry of Justice has stated on Thursday that the delegation could go to Imral? on Saturday.

BDP deputies S?rr? Süreyya Önder, Altan Tan and BDP group deputy chair Pervin Buldan have been chosen for the delegation to meet Abdullah Öcalan on Imral? Island.

In a statement following the announcement of the Ministry of Justice, BDP said that “The BDP delegation will go to Imral? Island at 8.30 am on Saturday, 23 February 2013”.
