Court sentences MA journalist Sayılğan to 4 years’ imprisonment

Mezopotamya Agency journalist Idris Sayılğan was sentenced to 4 years in prison. The verdict hearing was held at the 2nd High Criminal Court in Muş.

The journalist faced charges of “making propaganda for an illegal organization.”

Journalist Sayılğan did not attend the hearing, while his lawyer Erselan Aktan attended the hearing via Audio and Video Information System (SEGBİS) from Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.

Announcing the verdict at the end of the hearing, the court board sentenced Sayılğan to 4 years in prison on the charge of “making propaganda for a terrorist organization”.
