È stato un vero massacro quello di lunedì 15 novembre, nella finca El Tumbador, municipio di Trujillo, nel nord dell’Honduras. Un esercito di più di 200 guardie di sicurezza del produttore di palma africana Miguel Facussé Barjum, presidente della Corporazione Dinant, ha attaccato con armi di grosso calibro i membri del Movimento contadino dell’Aguán, Mca, i quali avevano recuperato quelle stesse terre da oltre nove mesi. Terre che erano state usurpate loro dal sanguinario impresario per seminare palma africana.
L’attacco dei gruppi paramilitari ha lasciato un tragico saldo di cinque morti – Teodoro Acosta (45), Ignacio Reyes (50), Raúl Castillo, 45, Ciriaco Muñóz (45) e José Luis Sauceda Pastrana (32) -, uno scomparso – Noé Pérez – e vari feriti, alcuni dei quali sono ricoverati in gravi condizioni.
“Le guardie di Facussé sono arrivate alle 5 di mattino e hanno intimato ai contadini di abbandonare il luogo. Di fronte al rifiuto di questi ultimi hanno chiamato rinforzi. Sono arrivate più di 200 guardie e senza proferire parola hanno aperto il fuoco con armi di grosso calibro”, ha raccontato Santos Cruz, membro del Mca, alla Lista Informativa “Nicaragua y más” e a Sirel.
Secondo varie testimonianze, le guardie dell’impresario palmero hanno usato armi da guerra: AK-47, M-16 e fucili R-15. Hanno invaso la proprietà e hanno iniziato a inseguire i membri del Mca per più di quattro ore. Nemmeno la Polizia, che come sempre è arrivata quando la situazione si era calmata e il massacro consumato, è potuta entrare nel terreno, in quanto totalmente controllato e protetto dalle guardie. “È stato un massacro. Hanno sparato per uccidere. La gente scappava tra le palme, cercando di proteggersi. Ci sono ancora due compagni scomparsi (uno, José Luis Sauceda, è stato poi ritrovato assassinato con tre colpi di R-15 al volto dopo l’intervista ndr) e non sappiamo se si siano nascosti o se siano stati assassinati e i loro corpi sono ancora nella proprietà. Nessuno può entrare. Queste terre sono nostre e le difenderemo”, ha spiegato Cruz.
