Over twenty soldiers killed

Simultaneous attacks killed some 20 to 26 soldiers and wounded many
Reports are coming through of twenty to twenty-six Turkish soldier who have been killed in different attacks. Twenty two members of the Turkish security forces have been injured.
According to reports HPG (People’s Defense Forces) guerrillas have simultaneously attacked several military and police buildings in the Çukurca district and Hakkari’s city center. The attacks happened late last night.
At least 22 soldiers were also wounded when the guerrillas opened fire on military outposts in Çukurca and Yüksekova districts in Hakkari province on the border with Iraq.
Hakkari Governor Muammer Türker confirmed the attacks but gave no further information about casualties.
Chief of General Staff General Necdet Özel and force commanders travelled to Hakkari after the news of the soldiers’deaths. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, who was scheduled to leave the country on Wednesday for an official visit to Kazakhstan, cancelled his trip.
