CONGRESSO USA CONTRO STATO PALESTINA
DemocracyNow. La Camera dei Rappresentanti ha approvato con maggioranza assoluta una misura che si oppone allo sforzo palestinese di ottenere, il prossimo autonno, il riconoscimento come Stato da parte delle Nazioni Unite. L’Autorità Palestinese si prepara per sollecitare alla Assemblea Generale dell’ONU che riconosca lo Stato palestinese nei territori occupati con le frontiere del 1967. La risoluzione della Camera dei Rappresentanti USA, che non è vincolante, esorta una sospensione degli aiuti statunitensi ai palestinesi se questi insistono con la proposta di riconoscimento di uno Stato. La misura fu approvata con 400 voti contro 6, dopo una analoga votazione svoltasi nel Senato il mese scorso.
Una votazione che si è realizzata nello stesso momento in cui Israele continua ad espandere insediamenti illegali nei territori occupati di Cisgiordania. Questa settimana, un membro dei municipio di Gerusalemme ha detto che era stata approvata la costruzione di circa 900 nuove case nell’insediamento di Gilo.

Kurds against wall of shame
The ruling AKP government has sped up the building of the unlawful wall between Mardin’s Nusaybin district and the Qamishlo city in West Kurdistan. The construction companies building the wall are kept secret and the municipality of Nusaybin is provided with no information about the wall being built.
Speaking to ANF about the ‘wall of shame’, mayor of Nusaybin Ay?e Gökkan remarked that the wall is being built at a time when the Kurdish people expect the government to remove wire fences and demine the border region.
Calling attention to the refusal of such walls across the world, Gökkan reminded of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdo?an’s ‘wall of shame’ comment for the wall Israel built between Gaza and West Bank.
