Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair Ahmet Türk and Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Batman MP Ayla Akat have visited Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan in Imral? prison on Thursday morning.

Speculations on the visit had gone around for hours and the report was later confirmed by BDP co-chair Selahattin Demirta?.

Demirta?, speaking to Nuçe TV in the evening, said that the statement on the visit will be made in the following days. Demirta? added that the meeting with jailed Kurdish leader was positive.

Öcalan had not seen his lawyers since 27 July 2011. On 17 November he met his brother and through him called on the hundreds of Kurdish prisoners on hunger strike in Turkish jails to end the protest. The prisoners ended the protest.
